August 22, 2007 or the day before school starts.  Bob's Electric and Dan's Refrigeration are in the basement today tweaking and finishing their piece of this project.  The desks and school supplies have been relocated and are being put into place.  Lance from Keppen Construction is there today finishing up odds and ends.  Keeping in mind the young people will be there tomorrow with all their expectations, everyone continues to be calm and diligent.

I expect by Monday this will be old news and everyone will have settled into their routine.

August 7, 2007 - I haven't taken the camera to the new school site for over a month.  Wow what progress.

The extra special people that have been working on weekends and in the evening have everything painted and have been working on the floor tile and wood trim.  Their gift is given despite the hot humid weather and less than perfect working conditions.  The cabinets look great.

Bob's Electric put the lights up, the interior doors are hung, and Todd is applying the trim in the boys bathroom.  The mile and a half of water pipe is at the jobsite and the push is on.  In just a few weeks there will be excited faces at the door.

June 25, 2007 - Kristina took the pictures today. It is over 90 degrees and there is only one Tshirt  laying in the dirt. The electricians from Bob's Electric are almost done with the rough in and the first coat of insulation is being sprayed on. The exterior is almost finished and looking good. The driveway stills requires some skill in four wheeling but the beginning part is nice.

The project is coming together nicely.

KJAM Web Article
<-----  KJAM had a nice piece on the news today about this project.  Courtney from KJAM discussed the project with Charlie Keppen.  A copy of the web article is to the left.

I almost did not take pictures today.  Yesterday it rained and I had the pictures that KJAM took from their web site www.kjamradio.com.  Really how much could happen in a day.  To the right is a picture I took after lunch today.  The roof is almost complete plus the lower skin and windows are done on the south side.  The advertisement is this material uses less labor than a wood framed house, I think Todd, Ray, and Mitch are just that efficient.  ---->

June 6th, 2007 - Ray, Todd, and Mitch were working on the building during my weekly photo shoot. Rather than just take pictures of steel I wanted to show their smiling faces. Obviously the photographer needs to take a course or read up on the zoom feature.

I have been gone for a week and can't believe the progress that has been made since I left. It is May 29th today and they are setting the steel truss.
Steel buildings are 100% accurate and precise with no waste of materials. These steel frames are made of 100% recycled steel. This building alone should save more than 32 trees. It will not rot, burn or warp and will be significantly more resistant to fire than a wood framed building. For more information on the steel itself go to www.steelmakessense.com.
David and Cheri Hauschild are full of information and will be happy to pass it on.

Doug Cecil of Cecil Plumbing was working on the rough-in part of the plumbing.

May 11, 2007 - There couldn't have been a more perfect day for a ground breaking ceremony. The students of Madison Christian School presented the stones they prepared; FAITH, HOPE, GRACE, and LOVE. These stones will become a part of the school.
Listening to the dedication.
The stones dedicated by the classes.
What a Great Day!
Are these union workers?
Great Sign!

The floor truss arrive.

Cassutt Construction poured the foundation May 3rd and 4th then stood out in the rain on Friday to remove the forms.

The last week of April 2007 the ground was broke and the process of building a new school began. The key word for the next few weeks would be "WET", the soil was holding the April showers.  Johnson Brothers Excavating kept at it.  On April 30th Cassutt Masonry and Concrete of Ramona started preparing the site for concrete.
Thank you!
